East Coastin'

WE MADE IT! Mike and his little brother John drove the moving truck, towing our car behind it. It took them 3 days and about 35 hours to get here. Me and Mason flew with my mom the next week. By the time we got here, Mike had already done all the hard stuff and we just had a few boxes to unpack and put away. Our new place is perfect. It's bigger than the apartment we had in Provo. We've also got a small backyard that will be awesome for Mason. There is a place called Presque Isle that's only about 10 minutes from us. It is a Peninsula that juts into Lake Erie. It's a beautiful state park and has 11 different beaches. Here are a few pics of Mason...he really was having a good time, contrary to some of the faces he was pulling.

We also went to Palmyra. We're in the Palmyra temple district now, so hopefully we'll get to go fairly frequently. My mom played with Mason so we could do a session. We also went to the Smith farm and got to see the old cabin, the frame house, and the sacred grove.

We stayed for the Hill Cumorah pageant that night. It was pretty impressive. There are 700 actors that participate and thousands of people that help with the entire production. Mason had a fun time playing in the grass and eating cheetos while we were waiting for it to get dark, but fell asleep before the show started and slept through the whole thing.

Mason LOVES to swim almost as much as he just loves to be outside. He's getting really strong, and does well in a little water...until he decides he's thirsty, then he'll face plant and try to drink the pool.
These next few are of him in his new pool, in our new backyard.

Here's a shot of our cute back "stoop" as Mike calls it. The pots on the corners are my new loves. (If you look closely, you can also see Mike waving through the window)

Me and my  mom found this local place that had beautiful flowers. We just stumbled upon them the last day they were open for this season. SO LUCKY!  We got 4 huge beautiful hanging baskets...and they threw in tomato plants FOR FREE :) I've already got a few little tomatoes growing. They're so cute I just want to squeeze them...Mason thinks so too. He tries to pluck them off every time we're outside. Hopefully they flourish so I can make some fresh salsa.
Last, is a shot of the front because I love those flowers too. I don't have much of a green thumb, but I'm hoping I can keep them all alive.
Overall, we're kind of in love with this side of the country. It will definitely be a new adventure and much different than our life in Provo. We'll keep exploring so we know the hot spots to hit whenever anyone decides to visit. We've already found a few gems, so feel free to start booking your airfare :)

  3. That would be awesome. Palmyra is pretty cool, and I bet the Sacred Grove would be really pretty in the fall.
