I feel like I've been doing a lot of nesting lately. We moved last week from our townhouse into an actual house. At first we were really excited, but we really should have taken some measurements when we were first considering this place. As it turns out, it is tiny. So tiny that we were afraid our beds wouldn't fit. Plus, the people who lived here before us left it less than tidy so we've been doing a lot of scrubbing around here.
I think it is pretty darn cute from the outside. However, the grass didn't look that good when we got here either. No exaggeration, the grass was about 3 feet tall. I wish I would have taken before and after pics when we mowed. Although it's taken a lot of work to get comfortable here, there are quite a few things that I really love about being here. The biggest perk to our house is the backyard.
It's fenced all the way around in the back. Mason loves to be out there, but it's rained almost every day that we've been here, so he hasn't gotten to use it a whole lot. My friend scored that toy at a garage sale for us last weekend for $10! It's $550 brand new. Very thankful for good friends and great deals.
Mason got a new bed a couple months ago, but we didn't put it all together until moving in here. He kind of likes it if you can't tell.
Our bedrooms are also on the same floor as everything else which so far I'm loving. Mason has a lot of his toys in his room instead of the living room, and actually plays in his room now that it's not so far away. Another perk to living in a tiny house...I can vacuum the whole thing plugged into one outlet.
Last on my list of favorites is the attic. It is a great space, and I would actually consider putting Mason up there if the stairs weren't so steep. So instead, my sewing nook got an upgrade from being in the basement, and Mike has a desk up there. We're also planning on putting a bed on the other side so we've got a place for visitors to sleep when you all come visit us :)
In the process of moving, we ended up giving our couches away. So we also splurged and got a sectional. Mason is watching out the window for Mike to come home.
Even though this baby won't be here for approximately 5 and a half more weeks, give or take, I'm feeling pretty nested.
We love your new home... and Mason's new bed! What does the kitchen look like?
