Last week, Mason started to get sick. I thought it was just a regular old cold, but he had a cough that just kept getting worse. After 3 days of keeping him quarantined at home, and his ever worsening cough keeping him up at night we decided he needed to see the doctor. Bronchitis. So now he's on antibiotics, and has to have breathing treatments every 6 hours. This is going to make for a VERY long week because the machine is loud and wakes him up when we have to do it in the middle of the night. The last 2 nights he has been awake from about 1:00am-4:00am watching cartoons and wanting to do anything but sleep. It doesn't help that the albuterol in the breathing treatment winds him up...so he ends up crazy-hyper after it's done. The only upside is how cute he is when he holds the mask by himself.
When we were in the office, he was amused enough to pretend to be an elephant while I held the mask on. That quickly wore off and it's more of a battle to get him to wear it long enough. But, he's learning quickly that it's much more pleasant if he just holds it himself...hopefully this persists.
So sorry! That is no fun!!! We might have to send him a get well package!!! Hope you all get some rest!
